Wheel Classes

Learning to make a pot on the wheel is no different than learning how to play an instrument- just a little bit messier!
It involves technical skill, a bit of rhythm, and lots of practice- And that is just the first step! There are a few that go into making a finished pot, all fun and challenging in their own way, and in our 8 week courses we learn and discuss them all.

Hand-building Classes

Pottery was being made long before the invention of the wheel...
In our Hand building course we talk about clay as a material, the most ancient making techniques, and how to apply them to whatever it is you choose to create - whether it’s functional or sculptural.
Think of it more as woodworking with a malleable material, or painting 3-dimensionally.

Our classes are for all levels - from beginner to advanced- it’s never too late to learn something new, and there is always room to improve and grow.
Everyone goes at their own pace, with no pressure of any kind. This craft can be what you want it to be, and you can make of it what you will.
For those interested in a more serious pursuit, individual programs can be discussed and developed, and extra time can be scheduled
Our studio is equipped with a classroom, so you can learn peacefully within a working ceramics studio.
