8 Week Courses

Our classes are for all levels – from beginner to more advanced- it’s never too late to learn something new, and there is always room to improve, grow, or just get a new perspective.
Classes are structured, but Students go at their own pace, and lessons are tailored to each student as needed.
Our goal here as educators is to lead our students to a place where they can think and work independently in clay – The ceramic world and process can feel intimidating or overwhelming at times- but we take it step by step, and focus on a strong foundation that can be built upon indefinitely, so that you can understand how to approach anything it is you want to make in this medium.
A single 8-week course will give a full introduction to the entire process.
Subsequent courses after that will build upon prior experience.
Class meets once per week.
PROOF OF VACCINATION is required from all students, members, and staff
Wheel classes
Learning how to throw a pot on the wheel is similar to learning how to play an instrument in a lot of ways- It involves learning the theory, the language, building some muscle memory, a bit of rhythm, and practice – And that is just the beginning – There are several steps and skill sets that go into making a finished pot, all fun and rewarding in their own way, and in our 8 week courses we dive into it all!
Hand building classes
Pottery was being made long before the invention of the wheel…
In our Hand building course you’ll learn about clay and other relevant materials, different techniques for construction and decoration – and how to apply them to whatever it is you choose to create – Once you’re feeling confident with some new skills, your teacher will advise and help guide you through projects of your own choosing!
Open Studio Hours:
Monday – Friday 12 – 6 pm
Saturday + Sunday 12 – 5 pm
*Unlimited Open Studio time is included with each course – so that you can come in to practice, or work on projects between classes – No extra cost!
*NEW* Sunday PM - Figurative Sculpture
*No Experience Necessary* Learn how to sculpt a 10” human or animal bust (chest to head) using various hand-building techniques – Just bring 2 images of the person or animal you’d like to sculpt! You’ll need a close-up image of the front and another from the side.

More Information:
- $40 Material fee due by, or at, first class – can be purchased online while registering, or in person on first day. Covers materials for entire 8 week course, including during open studio time.
- Firing Fees are additional, and are calculated at 5 cents / cubic inch / piece. Invoiced at end of session.
- Bring your own apron and tools – a complete tool kit can be purchased from us for $15 on first day of class.
- Classes are capped at 8 people
- Classes are 18+
- Missed classes can be made up on different days, space permitting – please contact studio to confirm before showing up to a different class day
- We do not offer refunds for missed classes
- Proof of Vaccination required on first day
- Masks are currently optional – Covid numbers in our area are closely monitored, and protocols are adjusted accordingly.
